HDfocus

The HDFocus is a PCI bus board which plays back high-definition video from a hard disk. It will play back all 18 ATSC formats defined as the standard HDTV resolutions. It includes 6-channel surround sound (Dolby AC3) and will output both RGB and YUV video formats.

The card can play back up to 40mbit/sec transport streams, and is optimized for the standard 19.4mbits/sec ATSC broadcast format. An on-screen display is included for overlaying graphics or text information onto the MPEG-2 video with varying degrees of transparency.

The card includes drivers for Windows NT(TM). A Developer’s Kit is available which provides support for OEM applications and can facilitate a port to other operating systems such as Unix derivatives.

The HDfocus is a PCI bus board that plays back all 18 ATSC HDTV resolution formats from a hard disk. It is designed to manage HD’s higher bit rate MPEG-2 files and will output both RGB and component video formats.

The HDfocus supplies true HD decoding with a fully integrated video and audio decoder. The card enables precise audio to video synchronization. Audio and video PES ID’s can be set in software for multi-stream applications. The card can playback up to 40 Mbit/sec transport streams, and is optimized for the standard 19.4 Mbit/sec ATSC broadcast format. Special effects, such as slow-motion and fast-forward are designed into the hardware on the card. Hardware decoding means minimal processor or system resource usage and it supports multiple card use.

Dolby Digital ® 5.1 AC3 surround sound is supported in hardware which (unlike software audio solutions) allows for multiple-card support in one computer system. Multiple audio channels can be down-mixed to stereo, and a variety of audio formats can be encoded.
